In that linear function,
Joseph's input, the number of lawns,
directly effected his output,
the amount of money he made.
More lawns equal more money.
Joseph's cash rose at a steady rate.
In this unit, we are going to look at some of the details of a linear function: where it intersects the x- and y-axis (the x & y intercepts) and the direction that the line goes (the slope).
It is all connected to what is known as slope-intercept form, or y = mx + b.
